A student may participate in exchange studies at another higher education institution in Estonia or abroad, either simultaneously with their regular studies or during a semester(s) specifically planned for this purpose. A higher education student wishing to study at another Estonian or foreign institution for one or more semesters must submit an application in accordance with the regulations of their home institution (application forms are available on the institution's website).
The start of exchange studies is coordinated with the head of the relevant curriculum or the vocational education department. Pre-agreed studies are recorded as academic achievements in the study information system (Tahvel) upon submission of the required documents, and the student is responsible for ensuring that these documents are submitted on time.
Students have various opportunities to study abroad through different projects and programs. If interested, it is important to clarify the specific conditions of the relevant program, project, and the receiving institution in advance.
