International and interdisciplinary conference 2022

Over a period of more than 80 years, thousands of health professionals in several generations and different specialties have been educated in Tallinn Health Care College. The contribution made by our alumni to better health and life of Estonian people, is precious. 

To celebrate our academic accomplishments in health sciences, the international and interdisciplinary conference “Empowerment of Public Health, Health Care and Wellbeing - Education, Research, and Practice" will be carried out on November 10, 2022.  The conference focuses on health promotion, prevention and protection.

Worksup will be available until December 10, 2022, for watching the conference on-demand. The log-in information is the same that you used during the Conference
Participation Certificate: Participation certificate will be given to all participants.

The conference will be held as an online event. Information about the access will be shared with registered participants prior the event.

Call for abstracts and articles

The aim of the interdisciplinary conference is to bring together outstanding scholars, researchers, and practitioners to exchange their knowledge, experiences and research findings. We welcome papers and poster presentations on topics related to, but not limited to: 

  • Health Promotion;
  • Health Prevention; 
  • Health Protection.

All abstracts and presentations should be in English. The submitted abstracts (oral presentation, poster) will be reviewed and scored by an international committee. Authors will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of their submission by July 1, 2022.

Abstract submissions should include the following information:  

  • Paper title
  • Names and surnames for each author must be provided. Do not include degrees or titles. 
  • Affiliations: Each author should be listed by institution, city, and country.
  • Paper abstract (max 250 words).
  • The format of the abstract: Background, Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
  • File Format: PDF

The conference abstract book will be published in the Proceedings, indexed with an ISBN and ISSN codes.

We invite you to submit your research findings (presented as Oral presentation at the conference) as articles for a consideration for the international scientific open access journal the Proceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences of the Estonian Academy of Sciences. The special issue will be published in September, 2023. The length of the text should be limited to 5000 words (excluding the title page, summary, references and appendices), 9-12 pages. Only full papers, written in correct English are accepted. Studies that have already been published or are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere are not accepted. Papers that do not comply with the requirements will not be published.1 author can contribute to maximum 3 articles. The guide for authors can be found HERE.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If the participants request cancellation and refund due to personal reasons, the following refund policy applies.

* 60 days ahead of the conference: 70% of payment refund

* 30-60 days ahead of the conference: 50% of payment refund

* Within 30 days ahead of the conference: no refund

Cancellation and refund request must be made formally via contact email!

 

* The organizing committees reserves the right to change the dates of the conference due to force majeure.

* Losses thus incurred from the force majeure events shall not be liabled and refund policy shall not apply as well.

Keynote Speakers
Omar Cauli

Omar Cauli was born in Sardinia in Italy where he completed the Pharmacy bachelor´s degree at University of Cagliari and then when he moved to Valencia (Spain), he completed Medicine bachelor degree. After his PhD in Neurosciences at University of Valencia he worked at Research Center Principe Felipe until 2011 and  he works as Associate Professor at the Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing and Podiatrics University of Valencia till now. He is a Section editor-in-Chief of the journal Diseases and belongs to several Editorial Boards of high indexed journals (Biological Research for Nursing, Toxicology, Metabolic Brain Disease, Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Disorders - Drug Targets, Biomolecules, Pathophysiology). He has published more than 170 articles and he is currently the Head of Frailty Research Organized Group (FROG) and the Director of Chair of Healthy, Active and Participatory Ageing.

Natalja Istomina

Natalja Istomina, RN, PhD, is a Director of Institute of Health Sciences, Head, Professor and Senior Researcher at the Department of Nursing of Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University. She has graduated from international nursing doctoral school in Finland and defended her doctoral thesis in Turku University (Finland). Natalja Fatkulina has wide research experience in International projects financed by European Funds (Baltic Sea Region Programme, Leonardo da Vinci, Mari Curie, Erasmus plus, Urbact II, etc). Also, she was a leader of successful projects in Lithuania. 

Natalja Fatkulina has experience of 20 years in teaching for nursing and health care students in Bachelors’, Masters’ and Doctoral studies programmes in Lithuania (Klaipėda University, Vilnius University), Finland (University of Turku), Kazakhstan (Karaganda Medical University, Astana Medical University), Russia (Kaliningrad Federal University of Kant, Stavropol State Medical University, etc), Greece, Cyprus, etc. She is a member of EANS from 2005, elected EANS Board member since 2019. Natalja has rich experience in highest level management and leadership. In 2014-2016, she worked as a vice-minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuanian Republic. In 2011-2016 she was an elected member of Klaipeda city Council. Her main research interests are nurse´s competence and nurse education, physical activity and patient education, quality of nursing care, health education at schools, health policy.
