Research & Development
The aim of research and development activities at Tallinn Health University of Applied Sciences is to contribute to the development of society in the field of health and well-being through the creation of new knowledge and the provision of innovative solutions.
Our general field of research is “Health and Well-being”, with the following priority research directions:
1. Health and Well-being Promotion, Including Mental Health
This research direction includes studies and projects that contribute to improving people’s physical and mental health and overall well-being. A key focus is on preventive activities aimed at reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases and improving access to services essential for ensuring health and well-being.
2. Nursing Science
This direction focuses on the study of nursing diagnoses, interventions, and nursing care outcomes in order to ensure the quality of nursing care. In addition to clinical aspects, the field also covers service organisation, nursing management, and quality management in nursing practice.
3. Implementation and Impact of Health Technologies
This direction focuses on the applicability of health technologies in the daily work of healthcare professionals and in patients’ everyday lives. In addition to testing new solutions, research also evaluates the usability and impact of health technologies.
4. Health Humanities
This direction explores the interaction between healthcare and society, addressing health and well-being issues from cultural, historical, ethical, philosophical, religious, and communication perspectives. The aim is to understand how social, cultural, and value-based factors influence health behaviour, the use of healthcare services, and the development of healthcare policy. Research findings support the development of patient-centred healthcare services, improve health literacy, and promote value-based healthcare organisation.
